Shawna's Baby Shower

This weekend we celebrated my big sister and soon-to-be-mommy, Shawna, with a baby shower for our family's second baby boy. To say that I am excited to have another sweet baby boy on the way would be an understatement! Can't wait to meet this little guy that is due in November!

The baby shower was monkey-sailor-tropical themed to match the little man's "ahoy maty" bedding. The decorations were done by Shawna's mother-in-law and her friends, and they were so, so cute. Everything was so wonderful!
Loved these monkeys hanging from the trees!
All my sisters including our soon-to-be mommy!
And of course Mr. Brendan was there! He gets to go to all the parties with his aunties!
Our mom and her mom, grandma Loni.
The mommy was glowing :)
While the girls were outside doing our baby shower thing, the boys/clean up and set up crew were inside watching football...
It was such a wonderful baby shower for a very special lady. My family is so blessed to have such amazing people in our lives to share all these good times with! (Special shout out to Cindy, thank you for reading my blog and it was so good to see you!)
Hope everyone has a great, productive week!

Wedding Wednesday: The Rehearsal

Today I am kicking off my wedding recaps with the night it all began: the rehearsal. That day I was still putting the finishing touches on the cupcake tower, building our "Steph's Bar" and "Corey's Bar" signs, and buying candy for the candy bar. Not to mention getting my nails done, toes manicured, and eye brows waxed. It was a whirlwind to say the least.

After all the last-minute details were taken care of, we headed over to our venue, the beautiful Le Rivage Hotel in Sacramento, for the wedding walk through. The girls and I wanted to make sure we could conquer the thick grass we had to walk on in our high heels while the guys just wanted to know where to go and when to go there. It was an informal practice that allowed us to visualize what our wedding was going to look like. It helped calm mine and Corey's nerves to see exactly where we'd be walking, when to get the rings, when to pass off my bouquet, and how to proceed out after we say "I do."

Corey and his groomsmen lined up in their spots.
My bridesmaids and ring bearer.
After the rehearsal, we all headed to my favorite restaurant in the whole world, the good ol' Spaghetti Factory in downtown Sacramento. It was so nice to sit down and have a meal with all our friends and family that have been a part of our journey since day 1. We also gave the wedding party their gifts on this night. The girls got personalized w/ bling tote bags and the boys got engraved flasks.
Corey and I at dinner. He wouldn't take his hat off because he didn't want me to see his new hair cut before the wedding.
My Bridesmaid/BFF Kari. Love this girl.
Following dinner, Corey and the boys headed to their penthouse at the top of the Citizen Hotel. The view from up there is amazing! The girls and I, a long with Corey's family and many of our friends all stopped by to have a final toast before the big day.
Corey and his mom, with a view of the capitol in the background.
Our very last picture as an engaged couple.

After crashing the guys' party, the girls and I went back to my suite for girl talk, a hot bath and bedtime. My final sleep as a single woman was spent in a bed with all my sisters. And I heard later that Corey's final night as a single guy was spent in bed with a couple of dudes. Hilarious.
It was hard to fall asleep knowing that when we wake up in the morning, it would be THE BIG DAY. It was hard to believe that after all the planning and waiting, it was finally here.

Back to Blogging

It's been a crazy couple of weeks but I am happy to report I am officially back to blogging! I had planned on blogging all the way up to the big day, but wedding planning got the best of me and I had to put it aside for a bit. But I do have to say, I already miss my wedding! It was so much fun and I wish we could do it again. Minus all the planning and all the expenses, of course.

It was better than I even imagined. The colors, the cupcakes, the company, the was all perfect for us. And now, I will relive it all with you guys right here on this blog. I'll cover everything from the rehearsal dinner to the final dance and everything in between. Starting Wednesday, I will do a Wedding Wednesday post every week until I run out of pictures. I can't wait for you guys to see them all!

Here is just a quick sneak peak of what's to come on the blog in the next few weeks...
The Rehearsal
The Wedding Day
The Ceremony

The Details

It was the time of our lives, and I am so looking forward to reliving it with all of you! And as nice as the break was, I am so happy to be back to blogging!

We're Married!

After ten years of dating, one year of wedding planning, and what feels like forever, Corey and I are finally married!!! It is so surreal how fast this weekend flew by. Between last minute details, the rehearsal dinner, getting ready, pictures, family, and partying... the past couple of days have been an amazing blur. I am happy to report everything went smooth and it turned out to be our perfect day. Here is a sneak peak of some pictures to hold you over until we get back from our honeymoon...
Ready to walk down the aisle with my dad.
How cool is this guy? Brendan and his tux stole the show!

I will have many more pictures of the whole event when we get back, but we're off to Cancun first thing in the morning. I honestly can't believe it's over, but the wedding was even better than I dreamed it would be. We had the time of our lives. Now it's time to relax on the beach!
